Biography

Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, Dr. Broviac has been an innovator and leader in the medical community. He began the first home-based peritoneal dialysis program in Lansing. His earlier training at the University of Washington included working under Dr. Belding Scribner and in Seattle he ran clinical research programs with Dr. Henri Tenckhoff. It was during this time that the first home parenteral nutrition program was initiated using the "Broviac Catheter" named for Dr. Broviac. Dr. Broviac attended the University of Cincinnati Medical School and went through his residency program there as well. He received further training with a fellowship appointment at the University of Washington. Dr. Broviac is married and has three daughters. He enjoys traveling and golf.
