Biography

Dr. Vangala received her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Gandhi Medical College/Osmania University in Hyderabad, India.  She completed a three-year Internal Medicine Residency Program in Chandigarh, India through PGIMER (Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research), a prestigious tertiary referral center.    Dr. Vangala also completed an Internal Medicine Residency through the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York.  She completed her Infectious Disease Fellowship at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital/University of New Jersey, in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Dr. Vangala served as a clinical instructor and research associate in the infectious diseases unit at the State University of New York in Brooklyn, NY.  She has been an attending physician and AIDS specialist at the Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.  Dr. Vangala moved to Michigan in 2004 and became an attending physician within the Infectious Diseases Division of the McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, MI.  She then moved to the East Lansing area to serve as an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University within the Division of Infectious Diseases.  In 2008 she went into private practice in Lansing.  Dr. Vangala joined MMP in 2010, creating a new division:  Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Vangala is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America.  She continues to reside in the East Lansing area with her husband Dr. Ashim Aggarwal, a retina surgeon here in Lansing.  During her off-time, Dr. Vangala enjoys reading, handicrafts, cooking, and quilting.
