Biography

Dr. Melissa S. Richardson is a board certified general surgeon with special interest in minimally invasive surgical procedures. Dr. Richardson received her surgical training through Michigan State University at Botsford General Hospital and has pursued further expertise through mini fellowship training at Ohio State University in Bariatric surgery. Her practice encompasses the full scope of general surgical procedures with emphasis on laparoscopic techniques that help to minimize pain and decrease healing time. Dr. Richardson serves as the vice chair of the department of surgery at Ingham Regional Medical Center and the Medical Director of Ingham Bariatrics. Dr. Richardson was born and raised in New Jersey and is married with two children.
